With the reality show making headlines for new controversies every day, and even ranking high on TRP charts, the makers followed their yearly ritual and gave the show an extension.

While the news of Bigg Boss 16 getting extended has made many fans happy, the show’s superstar host is yet to confirm if he will be continuing his weekly appearances on Friday and Saturday in the weeks added. According to a report on Telly Chakkar, Salman Khan ’s contract with Bigg Boss 16 expires on 12 January 2023, exactly a month before the grand finale of Bigg Boss 16.

The new finale date for the show, according to reports, is 12 February after the extension. The report further claims that while the makers and Salman himself have confirmed any plans of his exit or extension as the host, but if the Bollywood superstar decides not to extend his contract, Karan Johar has already been confirmed to back up as the host.

Karan who debuted as the host of Bigg Boss OTT last year, and even guest hosted Bigg Boss 16 when Salman was down with dengue, will bring the season to a finish in case of Salman’s absence.

Salman has seldom refused to host Bigg Boss in the past when the show got an extension over the several seasons he has been associated with the show. However, the makers seem to be ready for any situation as they move forward with the extension.

For now, Salman will be seen schooling the celebrities in the house as per usual while he decides on extending his duties for another month on Bigg Boss 16.
