Disha Vakani welcomes a baby boy amidst rumours of her return on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Actress Disha Vakani has welcomed a baby boy with her husband Mayur Padia. Disha who has been keeping a low profile after her departure from her show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah over 5 years ago, became a mother for a second time a few days ago confirmed her brother Mayur Vakani in an interview with a leading publication.

The news of Disha’s second baby comes in the midst of rumours of her return to the popular Sony SAB show. Disha had taken a break from the TMKOC in 2017, when she was her expecting her first born. She has been missing from the show since and numerous rumours of her return have followed since but so far, the actress hasn’t confirmed any reports of rejoining the Taarak Mehta cast.

Disha had posted pictures in 2021 from a family function on her social media handle where her baby bump was clearly visible. The actress who is popular for playing Dayaben on the show, however, never formally confirmed or announced her pregnancy.

Her brother, Mayur Vakani has now confirmed to Times of India that Disha has welcomed a baby boy and even confirmed that the actress will be joining Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah cast soon marking her highly anticipated return as Dayaben.

Regarding her return on the show, Mayur said, "Disha will surely return to the show. It has been a long time and Taarak.. is the only show she has acted in for so many years. So there is no reason why she should not return to the show. We are all waiting when she will get back to working on the sets."

Before Disha’s brother Taarak Mehta producer Asit Modi confirmed in an interview that Dayaben will be re-introduced on the show but refused to confirm if Disha will be the one playing the character.
