Naagin 6: Mahekk Chahal calls Mouni her favorite Naagin; reveals she took inspiration from Sridevi’s Nagina

In November last year, Ekta Kapoor announced the 6th season of her supernatural thriller series Naagin when she joined Salman Khan for an episode of Bigg Boss 15 . She shared that the show will feature two naagins and revealed that the name of one of her actresses begins with ‘M’. On the Grand Finale of BB15, contestant and winner Tejasswi Prakash was introduced as the lead star of Ekta’s show. For the longest time, rumors suggested that actress Mahekk Chahal has been roped in to play the other naagin. Well, the beauty has now confirmed that she is a part of Naagin 6. Her first look in a blue ensemble has also gone viral on social media.

In a chat with Pinkvilla, Mahekk expressed her excitement about the show, which will feature her as well as Tejasswi in positive roles. Talking about her favorite Naagin from the popular series, Mahekk shared, “I think it is Mouni ( Roy ) because she kind of set the stage for everybody, as all the other Naagins came after her. I think she just put the whole base there, made it so glamorous, did it with such ease, did it very classy, and that girl is also very classy. So she will always remain my favourite Naagin.” As most fans know, Mouni headlined the first two seasons of Ekta’s show.

When asked if she took inspiration from late superstar Sridevi’s popular film Nagina, in which she played the role of a shape-shifting snake, Mahekk replied, “Obviously you take the inspiration. Like I said, Mouni set the tone, but she did it prior to that and she is such a great artist and did it with so much glamour. Even if we get 5 to 10 percent of what she did that will be great. The way she carried herself, the way she looked in the movie, her eyes, obviously you try to think about that.” Mahekk went on to add that each time her director reminds her to make her eyes look strong, the actress automatically thinks of Sridevi.

Well, we can’t wait to see Mahekk and Tejasswi as Naagins when their show premieres on TV on 12thFebruary. Simba Nagpal, who also competed in BB15, will be playing the male lead on the show.
