Oscars 2022: Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Momoa, and others wear blue ribbons to show solidarity with Ukraine

    Several celebrities including Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Momoa, attended the Academy Awards on Monday wearing a blue ribbon to show solidarity with Ukraine refugees.

    At the 94th Academy Award’s red carpet, several Oscars stars showed their support to war-torn Ukraine by sporting blue ribbons bearing the hashtag #WithRefugees.Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis nominated songwriter Diane Warren, actors Samuel L. Jackson, Yuh- Jung Youn, Jason Momoa among others, supported the campaign backed by the United Nations Refugee Agency.

    While Jamie wore it as a ring on her finger, others including Diane, Samuel, Yuh wore it as a pin to the red carpet. On the other hand, Jason walked the carpet wearing a blue and yellow pocket square, the colours of the Ukraine flag. In addition, producer Nicholas Britell, director Paolo Sorrentino and the cast of Hand of God have also worn the pin in support of Ukraine refugees.

    Earlier too, the celebrities have shown support for Ukraine at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in February. They attended the ceremony wearing the colours of the Ukraine flag. Douglas Hodge, Michael Douglas, Tyler Perry, Shari Belafonte, Jon Bernthal, Lisa Ann Walter were among the celebrities who showed their solidarity with Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion. Actors Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, among others have also helped raise money for Ukraine aid.

    Meanwhile, the star-studded ceremony also witnessed a high fashion game as the celebrities wore outfits matching the scarlet carpet. Actors Ariana DeBose, Marlee Matlin, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kirsten Dunst, Rosie Perez, Jennifer Garner, Simu Liu sizzled in red-coloured outfits at the ceremony.

    The Academy Award held on Monday was hosted by Schumer with Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. Actor Will Smith and Jessica Chastain walked away with the Best Actor Award and Best Actress Award for King Richard and The Eyes of Tammy Faye respectively. While Power of the Dog director Jane Campion won the Best Director award, CODA won the Best Film Award this year.
