Pankaj Kapur joins Shahid Kapoor on The Kapil Sharma Show; comedian jokes ‘aise khada hai jaise PTM pe papa aa gye’

Father-son duo Pankaj Kapur and Shahid Kapoor are all set to reunite on the silver screen in the upcoming film Jersey seven years after their last project Shaandaar. The sports drama, which has now been postponed to 22nd April, follows the story of a 36 year old cricketer who dreams of playing for the Indian national team in order to fulfill his son’s wish-- to get a jersey. Well, the two are currently on a promotional spree for the film and their next pit stop will be The Kapil Sharma Show.

Shahid and Pankaj will grace the comedy show along with their beautiful co-star Mrunal Thakur this weekend. By the looks of the first teaser of this episode, the three will have a gala time with the team. In the promo, after a little banter with Shahid and Mrunal, Kapil invites Pankaj to the stage. Soon after the veteran actor makes a smashing entry, the comedian will share that he is in awe. Kapil will state, “Meri toh haalat kharab ho gayi hai. Aap Shahid ko bhi dekh lo! Aise khada hai jaise parents meeting mein papa bina bataye nahi aa gaye (I am in awe of Pankaj sir, and look at Shahid. He is standing like a kid whose father came to the PTM unannounced).”

Talking to Mrunal, who is playing Shahid’s on-screen wife in the film, Kapil will ask, “Mrunal maine dekha hai aap inko cricket khelne se rok rahi hain. Kyun, yeh safed jersey aapko dhoni padhti hai isliye (I saw that your character stops Shahid from playing cricket. Is it because you will have to wash the white jersey)?” As always, Kapil will leave the guests in splits. Later Kiku Sharda will come on stage and congratulate Shahid for the new car he brought. However, the comedian will go on to say that the actor should have brought a bucket full of sweets to celebrate. Kiku will explain, “Kab tak dabbe mein khaayenge? Sir, you have to think out of the box!”
