Back in February this year, it was reported that VJ Rannvijay Singha has stepped down as host and mentor of reality show Roadies and will not be returning for season 18. He confirmed the news and shared that he had to end the association only because his dates didn’t match the channel. Fans were heartbroken but were later overjoyed when it was announced that Bollywood actor Sonu Sood will be stepping in. He is making his television debut as the host and mentor in Roadies 18 .

In a chat with ETimes, Sonu opened up about comparisons with former host and mentor Rannvijay. The actor explained that the show is about the journeys that a mentor lives with the Roadies. While Rannvijay had his share of amazing journeys and memories, Sonu feels he embarked on an equally amazing journey in South Africa where the show was shot. The actor shared, “I’ve seen Rannvijay hosting the show and he is my brother and I love him a lot.”

Sonu went on to state, “He has done so well and he has set a great standard of Roadies and now I’ll have to live up to the expectations. I am glad we could do justice to the show because people who have seen the show have praised it and called it magical. They also said that the hardcore Roadies fans are going to love it and connect with it.”
