Shark Tank India has successfully managed to put on display the country’s entrepreneurial talent. With a wide array of products put on display by start-up owners from various corners of the country there was one product in particular that got all the five ‘sharks’ on the show excited and got six different investment offers which was a first in the history of the show.

A popsicle brand Skippi Ice Pops, pitched by co-founders Ravi Kabra and Anuja Kabra raised Rs. 1 crores for 15% equity from five sharks Anupam Mittal , Aman Gupta , Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar and Ashneer Grover . While Skippi Ice Pops was looking to raise only Rs. 45 lakhs for 5% equity the interest taken in the product by all five sharks quickly raised the stakes.

The product pitched banked on childhood nostalgia and the all five sharks loved the product on tasting it. Anupam Mittal the founder of Shaadi.com was the first to match the offer which was then quickly raised by Namita Thappar, CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals and Ashneer Grover the former CEO of BharatPe who jointly offered Rs. 60 lakhs for a shared equity of 5%.

Vineeta Singh, Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal then considered teaming up to extend and offer which soon turned into an offer from all five who decided to gain 15% in equity together giving Skippi Ice Pops Rs. 1 crores in total.

This was a one of a kind offer which pleased all parties and also led to some fun snubbing among sharks as they tried to one up the offer.
