Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is undoubtedly one of the most popular and watched television shows of our country. Over the year, the comedy, unique story-line and quirky characters made it a hit amongst audiences. While each team member is adored by fans, two characters who hold a special place in the hearts of most viewers are Jethalal Champaklal Gada, played by Dilip Joshi , and his on-screen wife Daya Jethalal Gada, which was portrayed by the very talented Disha Vakani till 2017.

After winning hearts with her performance as Daya Ben for 9 long years, Disha took a maternity break in 2017 and decided that she wants to focus on her personal life and responsibilities. Even after 5 years, fans miss the character very much. Well, in a recent chat with ETimes, Producer Asit Kumarr Modi confirmed that the team is planning to bring back Daya Ben. He shared, “We have no reason to not get back Daya Ben’s character. But we all have faced difficult times in the recent past. 2020-21 was a very tough phase for all of us. But now that things have got better, in 2022 koi bhi acche samay par we are going to bring back the character of Daya Ben and audience’s will once again get to see the entertainment of Jethalal and Daya Bhabhi.”

But will Disha return as Daya or will the makers look for her replacement? The producer was quoted saying, “I don’t know yet if Disha Vakani will be back as Daya Ben. We still have a very good relation with Disha ji, we are like a family. But now she is married and has a kid and everyone gets busy with their own responsibilities.” He stated that he can’t comment on this at the moment but promised that the team will try their best to entertain the audience to the fullest!

Recently, the show was in the news after rumors of lead actor Shailesh Lodha quitting began doing the rounds. However, no confirmation has been made about it yet.
