One of the popular TV shows Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has once again hit the headlines for wrong reasons. Actress Jennifer Mistry, who played the role of Mrs Roshan Singh Sodhi in the show, has levelled sexual harassment charges on show producer Asit Modi. She has also quit the show after working for 15 long years.

In an interview, Jennifer revealed that Asit made sexual advances towards her many times in the past but she ignored it in fear of losing out on work. She had stopped the shoot two months ago after being insulted by Project Head Sohail and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. Elaborating on the same, she said she wanted half-day leave from the makers as it was her marriage anniversary and holi on March 7. But the makers made adjustments for everyone except her.

"I was asked to get off the sets four times by Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj tried to stop my car by standing behind it and was not allowing to me to leave the sets. I told them that I worked on the show for 15 years, and they couldn't forcefully stop me, and while I was leaving Sohail threatened me. I have filed a case of sexual harassment against Asit Kumarr Modi, Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj," she told Etimes.

Further, Jennifer called the sets of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah 'male-chauvinistic’ and people working on the show a ‘bonded labourer. She also mentioned that she received a notice from the makers on March 24 saying that they are losing money because of her. Later on April 4, she replied to them on WhatsApp claiming that she was sexually harassed. She sent a draft and they reverted to her saying she was trying to 'extort money' from them. It was on April 8 that she sent a legal notice to Asit Modi, Sohil Ramani and Jatin Bajaj and sent a registry to all the government authorities.

Earlier, Shailesh Lodha filed the case against Asit for non-payment of dues. Even actors Neha Mehta, Raj Anadkat and others, also quit the show due to undisclosed reasons. Meanwhile, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the longest-running Hindi comedy sitcom that has aired more than 3,500 episodes.
