Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Sachin Shroff replaces Shailesh Lodha, producer says 'viewers can't be kept waiting'

Well, fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will now see a new ‘Taarak Mehta’ in their TV screens. The rumors of Shailesh Lodha quitting the show have turned out to be unfortunately true and the writer-poet will no longer be returning to the show. However, fans needn’t worry as actor Sachin Shroff has already been roped in to replace him. The producer of the cult comedy show, Asit Modi has confirmed the same.

Talking to Aaj Tak, Asit Kumar said that he tried to convince Shailesh Lodha to return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah but the actor refused to budge. The producer also stressed that the audience cannot be made to wait if an actor is not willing to return to the show. The producer said, “Yes, we have cast Sachin Shroff in our show. Sachin is coming in place of Shailesh Lodha in this show. Sachin has also started shooting. With Shailesh, we had tried a lot to find a middle ground but he left the show. Now, because of this viewers can't be kept waiting. I had brought someone on the show for them. I wish to God that even Sachin receives the same love from the audience."

Asit Kumarr Modi furthermore said that he hopes Sachin Shroff will receive the same love and validation as Taarak Mehta as Shailesh Lodha did. The producer added, “See, it is a journey of 15 years, it is obvious that the ups and downs will keep on coming. After all, the audience is our priority. I don't want to disappoint them. We have a team of good writers and direction, so hopefully people will accept Sachin in the role of Taarak Mehta."

Shailesh Lodha had stopped shooting for the show earlier this year after which rumors were rife that he has joined the bandwagon of celebs who have quit the show. The actor reportedly left the show in search of some better prospects. Sachin Shroff on the other hand is also a popular name in showbiz. He has been part of the hit TV show Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Meiin and was also a part of Bobby Deol’s popular series Aashram.
