Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Show producer says Dayaben aka Disha Vakani’s return seems impossible, looking for replacement

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making headlines ever since Dayaben aka Disha Vakani left the show. The show producer Asit Kumarr Modi recently revealed that they have been receiving abuse from fans who have been eagerly waiting for her return on the show for a long time now.

Asit said that the re-entry of Disha as Dayaben seems impossible and hence they are looking for a replacement. However, if by any chance she decided to make a comeback, it will surely be a grand entry. He also said that the Dayaben character cannot come overnight as she has been missing for a long time from the show.

"Ab yeh story ka mamla hai. We are working everything out but it will take some time. I agree that people are literally abusing us as people are emotionally attached to the show. I do think about the fans who comment online and respect their views. Daya bhabhi aayegi. While we would definitely want Disha (Vakani) to come back as Daya, we are simultaneously also auditioning for the character. If she comes back, it will be very good as she is like family. But since her return doesn't seem to be possible, we are auditioning for a replacement,” he told Etimes.

Further, he added, “As a maker, I want that Dayaben should be back. Our efforts are on. Aane waale kuchh mahino mein Daya bhabhi bhi dikh jayengi, aur bhi bahot kuch dikhega. Dayaben cannot return overnight, we will have to create a zabardast re-entry for her since she has been missing for a long time.”

Meanwhile, the latest episode of the show hints at the return of Dayaben’s character in a few months. In the show, Sundar is seen arriving at the Gokuldham society with his friends. And not finding his wife Dayaben with him, disappoints Jethalal. Later Sunder promises Jethalal that he will convince his mother to send Dayaben, who is in Ahmedabad, back in three months. However, furious Jethalal announces a hunger strike if Daya doesn't come back within two months. However, it is yet to be seen when Dayaben will make her grand re-entry on the show.
