Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's producer Asit Modi rubbishes claims of sexual harassment by Jennifer Mistry, says 'she is trying to defame me and the show'
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit said that the actress is trying to defame him and the show because her contract has been terminated.
After Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Jennifer Mistry’s sexual harassment charges, producer Asit Modi has decided to take legal action against her. The producer said that the actress is trying to defame him and the show because her contract has been terminated.
In an interview with AajTak, Asit denied all the allegations against him and said, “We will take legal action as she is trying to defame me and the show both. Since we terminated her services, she is making these baseless allegations.” Besides him, project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj said that the actress’ behaviour was bad on the sets.
“She regularly misbehaved on the show with the entire team. While moving out from the shoot, she rashly drove her car out at very high speed not caring for people in her way. She even damaged the set property. We had to terminate her contract because of her bad behaviour and indiscipline during the shoot,” said Sohail and Jatin.
Further, the direction team of the show also complained about Jennifer saying, “She lacked basic discipline on the set and was not focusing on her work. We regularly had to complain to the production head about her behaviour. On her last day, she was abusive in front of the whole unit and left the set without finishing her shoot.”
For the unversed, Jennifer, who plays the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi in the popular sitcom, alleged that Sohail and Jatin misbehaved with her. She also claimed that Asit made several sexual advances towards her in the past but she ignored it in fear of losing out on work. She revealed that Asit once said, ‘you are looking very beautiful, I feel like holding and kissing you’. Meanwhile, the actress has quit the show after working for 15 years and filed a sexual harrassment against the show producer
