Urfi Javed after being accused of 'tarnishing the image of Islam' says she doesn't want to marry a Muslim man

Urfi Javed is one former Bigg Boss contestant who often turns heads for her eccentric fashion sensibilities. The actress garners a lot of attention social media for her self-styled bold outfits she’s often spotted in by the paparazzi but despite having a loyal fan base she also has to endure a lot of trolling too.

Outspoken and bubbly, Urfi has on more than one occasion made it clear that she is not bothered in the least by all the trolling and mean comments for her outfits. Despite having lasted in the Bigg Boss OTT house for just a week, Urfi did gain immensely from the reality show and today enjoys a following of over two million on Instagram.

Being a Muslim, Urfi has now opened up about being targeted by people from her own religion on social media and said in an interview that she will not be tied down in her choices by religious expectations and went so far as to claim that she will not marry a Muslim man.

Sharing her religious beliefs, Urfi told India Today in an interview, “I am a Muslim girl. Most of the hate comments I receive are from Muslim people. They say that I am tarnishing the image of Islam. They hate me because Muslim men want their women to behave in a certain way. They want to control all the women in the community. I don’t believe in Islam because of this. The reason why they troll me is because I don't behave the way they expect me to as per their religion.”

Urfi also reflected on her family history and spoke about her conservative father and how he left her mother. She said that her mother has never forced her religion on her and while her siblings follow Islam she doesn’t believe in religion.

The actress further spoke about her wedding plans and said, “I will never marry a Muslim guy. I don't believe in Islam and I don't follow any religion, so, I don't care who I fall in love with. We should marry whoever we want to.”
