Darling, directed by debutant Sam Anton and produced by Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts and KE Gnanavelraja’s Studio Green. Music composer GV Prakash Kumar debuts as the lead actor along with Nikkitha Galrani as the female lead. Cast has Bala, Karunas and Naan Kadavul Rajendran to tinkle your funny bones along with many others.
Darling’s story line is plain and simple with no twists and turns. But director does his screenplay work pretty decent. Kathir (GV Prakash Kumar) wants to end his life after a love failure. But his friend Kumaran (Bala) tries to keep him away from it and helps to recover his love again with Nisha (Nikkitha Galrani). When Kathir finds his love again, Nisha turns into a ghost. How and Why Nisha turns into a ghost is the Darling’s story line with a decent climax.
Sam Anton as debutant did a good job but failed to overcome few usual things seen common in all horror movies like lonely beach house with ghost fear, every usual ghost make up and more. Bala and Karunas sharp one liners are the perfect reflection of the famous one liners in the social media websites and viewers are taken a funny ride by Naan Kadavul Rajendran as Ghost Gopal Verma. Don’t miss him..!!
GV Prakash Kumar suits into his role pretty well and also came up with a decent performance. His music and BGM work also top notch and prefect sync to the movie. He did his roles as an actor and a music composer with ease and perfection. Overall, Darling can be enjoyed once. Producers and GV Prakash Kumar could not ask more from the director than this Darling..!!
