Moone Moonu Vaarthai, only three words - Major Soundararajan style. I had absolutely no expectations on this flick and having said that, I would say that this film is not that bad when compared to some mindless commercial masala films. Its a timepass film with some genuine humor moments and some boring, annoying scenes too. Not bad but not watchable too.
MMV is about the life of a spoil brat Arjun and his "Vetri Kodi Kattu' moments to success. He is jobless, has a best friend, who become jobless because of Arjun, they drink, crack some jokes, they drink, Arjun falls in love with a girl, the guys drink and smoke, one song, they drink again, they become responsible and start a business, they drink, they screw up a marriage, they drink, they want to rectify it so before that they again drink and after some dialogues and jokes, everything ends. So all they do is just drink and drink. There is a bit of story between their drinking sessions.
The film would have been a bit more watchable if the dialogues were good. Its stand up comedy kinda film but the one liners fall flat. A help of a script consultant was the need of the hour. But there are some genuine LoL moments and many scenes that fall short and keeps you wondering. The music was ok but the song placement spoiled the flow. Editing was good in terms of runtime but film seemed dragging due to jokes that are intended to make you laugh, does not reach you. Cinematography was good and not major complaints here.
The performances were pretty good. They were natural and looked comfortable. The only issue with MMV was that some jokes that were fired to entertain you, does not and some unintended dialogues make you laugh. Its just a time pass film, which has nothing new to offer. I have never watched a film that had more drinking scenes. Can watch once but that once could be on TV if some channel gets the rights. Or wait for someone who will upload the jokes on YouTube, that just makes you laugh. That's just 10-15 mins of the entire movie.
