Vanmam directed by Jothi Krishna is an upcoming action entertainer that stars Kreshna, Vijay Sethupathy and Sunaina in the principal roles. The film is being produced by Hitesh Jhabak.

“Vanman is another routine run-of-the-mill film around friendship and family. Despite Vijay Sethupathy's and Kreshna's refined performances, movie fails to engage due to a dull second half and ordinary narration. One time watch!”

Vijay Sethupathy was the actor that you cut a class above the rest. He did not do gimmicks and has been part of films like Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Soodhu Kavvum. He carved a niche in an industry that thrives on massy masala and became the alternative, underground hero. But then he did Vanmam that undoes all the independent cinema karma that he has earned himself.

As far as story is concerned there isn't anything worth two sentences. Two friends turn against each other after the strain of a murder eats away at their thick friendship. Then we go through a vicious circle of avenge and revenge and avenge and revenge, till we see the credits roll.

Vijay Sethupathy is joined by Kreshna in this cinematic best friendship. And the director Jai Krishna has rehashed a frail, old plot and didn't even bother giving it a crutch to lean on. The music makes no impact and the lov song could have been avoided, then again the love song can always be avoided.

Sethupathy and Krishna have a few moments in performance, and cinematography makes it look ompressive on screen. But that's hardly enough for this test of tolerance.
