Dhillukku Dhuddu is Santhanam's yet another attempt to prove that he can attract huge crowd as a solo hero. I would say that his first two films, Vallavanukku Pullum Aayutham and Inimey Ippadi Dhaan are decent attempts but for a comedian turned hero, anything less than extraordinary will not yield great profit. So how's Dhillukku Dhuddu? While watching the first half of the movie, I thought Dhillukku Dhuddu will end up as a below average movie for Santhanam as the film moved at a leisure pace. But after the intermission, the film's director Rambhala has intelligently sketched a comic play within the horror comedy and it's something unique comparing to the usual Friday releases.

I won't say that Santhanam has improved his acting skills but the actor looks great on screen with a stylish makeover and as usual entertains the crowd with his comic one liners. Hindi actor Saurabh Shukla is a big strength for the film while the comedy gang Anand Raj, Karunas and Mottai Rajendran too add more comic strength in the second half.

The bottom line is one should sit with great patience while watching the first half of Dhillukku Dhuddu but after that the film will make you to leave the theater with hearty laughter.
