Sathuranka VettaiWatch trailerRelease date : July 18, 2014

Debutant Director, H. Vinoth has done a fantastic job with Sathuranga Vettai by analyzing the root cause of the recent scams, fraudulent activities happening all around and pinned an excellent screenplay. He has to been mentioned as a debutant hence we can't find him as debutant in the screen. Lingusamy's recent acquisition proves him an intelligent producer who watches out for young talents.

The lead Gandhi Babu (Natraj), mastermind with a group of people to achieve all fraudulent activities with his beaten knowledge of people who falls for money. The movie starts with the episode of Ilavarasu and the character of 'Ilayathalapathi Vijay', the perfect cracker jacker to start off a complete entertainer. The MLM episode which follows has a terrific value of humour. Eventually movie runs with how Gandhi Babu and his team try to make money with several activities and these activities stops when he gets arrested with a trap.

The first half sparks like a speed gun for a perfect entertainer. The lead's flashback is not a new one for Tamil audience but it does make sense. The second half takes its time to regain the momentum because of all the turns and twists it has but considering the narration never makes you to take different positions in your seat. The events unfold like a novel which lets you to predict the climax with long and patience testing second half but surprise you by serving a message to the people who runs behind money, which is an twist actually, at the end.

The dialogues are sharp by comparing to them to the current scenarios. The amount of detailing has gone in to capture, MLM, Gold Quest, and Iridium which pulls rice are served so delightfully. Natraj is brilliant as Gandhi Babu. He does his part with expressive body and eye language. Ishaara suits the character and makes a cute debut. The supporting cast of Ilavarasu, Ponvannan, Dharani are perfect choices. Technically the film is chic with top class camera work by debutant Venkatesh. His top camera angle shots are fantastic in the end. Editor, Raja Sethupathy's work makes the film lengthy, could have made it shorter specially the second half. Music of Sean Rolden is perfect with the mood of the film and his BGM works well but fails to capture the attention of the viewers during songs.
