Verdict - Usual commercial entertainer with Ajith in it.

    VedalamWatch trailerRelease date : November 10, 2015

There are stars who release their films during the festive seasons and there are few whose release will celebrated as a festival. Thala Ajith is of the second category. The expectations were sky high since his film Vedalam releases on Diwali. The promotions from the team were low whereas it is his fans who never fail to promote his film.

Thala Ajith has two shades in this film namely Vedalam and Ganesh as revealed earlier. Lakshmi Menon plays his sister while Shruthi Hassan is his love interest. Soori, Rajendiran & co take care of the comedy portions. Thambi Ramayya plays a dad role.

The first half is filled with usual commercial elements. An intro for Ganesh, an opening song, few comedy scenes, and a good interval portion. The opening song Veera Vinayaga is a treat to watch. The comedy scenes could have been better and hardly evokes laughter. Still, doesn't irritate. Thala Ajith pleases the audience with his screen presence.

The second half goes on as expected and there is nothing new to see but still is enjoyable. All the elements of the commercial package have been added in the second half too, making it go neither high nor low than the first half. The last 20mins of the film is good.

The director has chosen an outdated script and made it a subject that emphasis on women empowerment. He pleases Ajith's fan base but others will find it difficult to enjoy. The cinematography is good. Song visuals are good and are foot tapping to hear. Above all, it is Ajith who carries the film with his screen presence.

On the whole, Vedalam is a theri treat to the fans.
