Current Theega - It's old wine in a new bottle.

Raju (Manchu Manoj Kumar) is a his usual quirky over-enthusiastic young stubborn hero material that you see in masala entertainers. As the initial twist, he happens to be deeply in love with a college English teacher Sunny (Sunny Leone) in a village called Parvathipuram. Sivarama Raju (Jagapati Babu) with his overtly styled hot salt and pepper look is the village's well known family head who decides to marry off his daughters to the grooms of his choice, very scarily establishing that love marriage or eloping will not be part of the plan. Kavitha (Rakul Preet Singh) is his 3rd daughter and also a student of Sunny. As the things proceed, Raju and Kavitha fall in love. Rest of the story is all about what happens when they want to get married. And no prizes for guessing.

This film is the official Telugu Remake of 2013 Tamil film 'Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam'. Director G Nageswara Reddy takes this earthen flavored film and brings it to the Telugu audience with a lot of slapstick humor and a Sunny Leone!

Manoj uses all his effervescence to take the story forward. I predicted Rakul Preet would be the next big thing in the Venkatadri Review and seems like my predictions are on the way to reality. Sunny of course is an added highlight wherever she goes. The Music of the film is melodious and production values are quite classy and showcasing the village colors well. The second half of the film gets onto a little drag and few sequences almost seemed forced out of the compulsion to stick to the certain formula. Story is a cliches one and becomes more predictable as we inch towards the climax with routine elements taking center stage.
