“Kick 2 manages to entertain but doesn't live upto the magic of the original.”
"The movie was very confusing and it had no story"
"Film is full of fights"
"Kick was lot of fun, this film is boring"
I overheard the audience after the film and thats what they had to say about the film. That pretty much sums up, but i will put down my thoughts also, to make it easier for you to take a wise decision.
As the audience said, Kick was way funnier. It had more comedy and the entire Ravi Teja - Shyam episodes were really good. Kick 2 lacked entertainment in every aspect. The screenplay was chaotic, music didnt sync with the mood of the scene, lot of fights, uninspiring comedy and a lot more.
Unlike "Kick" in the 1st part, its "Comfort" in Kick2. They could have very well named the film Comfort. Because, the hero uses that word a million times in the movie. The basic storyline is very weak. There is this NRI dude, who comes to india to settle a land dispute, falls in love, goes to the girl's villiage to find her, the villiage is in trouble and he helps the villiage. The twist is that all this is a plot played by the girl and the villiagers. There are some songs in between and a few CG scenes.
Keeping all this aside, I have to appreciate Ravi Teja for his undying energy and the machoness with which he delivers his dialogues. He had trimmed down a bit and age is definitely showing up, but he was able to shake his legs and trash a few goons. Rakul Preet is pretty and comes in for few songs and thats all about her. Bramhanandam is losing his touch. The villian makes you laugh and keeps yelling that he is son of GOD. Phew!!
There are a few moments, that will really make you laugh and some moments that makes you forget that you are watching a film but these are just a few and the remaining will test your patience. There is an overdose of fights and punch dialogues. There is a lack of emotional connect with the film. There is a scene, where a man snatches food from a dog and eats, but you dont get the sense of sympathy on the man. Film is so uninspiring.
