A play on what guys look for on the reservation chart, the movie is a love story which like Sukumar's movies is treated a little differently. Directed by his protege, Surya Pratap, the movie tries to show the love tale between a guy Sid (Raj Tharun) and Kumari (Hebah Patel) who is everything a boy fantasizes about. The question is, if you get what you ask for will you be able to handle it? In the movie, the protagonist is the bold Kumari who gives the boy everything he can ever ask for from a female friend. But then the trap the director couldn't avoid is that of the fake fantasy. The girl in the movie is not real. And that is where he loses me.
Yes, boys have varied fantasies and yes boys find it hard to control their possessiveness especially when encountered by a free-spirited woman. But just because a woman isn't stereotypical, it doesn't mean she has to fit the fantasy line of a boy, going topless for his sake. There is a middle path, something that our filmmakers cannot seem to realise at the point. Yes, the movie gets full marks for trying out something different from the cock and bull love stories. But, somewhere you cannot help but think if our movies are either this bank or that instead of riding the troubled waters in the middle, the grey area. The movie for its story has been handled well and is not a bad watch. It could appeal to the masses more than the classes who probably are already exposed to a lot of what has been shown in the movie in other urban love stories from other languages.
