Soggade Chinni Nayana wasn't made to change the face of cinema. It was a movie which from its outset was determinedly made for Sankranti, keeping the festive spirit in mind. Nagarjuna assays a double role, opposite Ramya Krishna and Lavanya. The junior Nagarjuna is brought up by his mother as a simpleton to make sure he doesn't turn into a flirtatious playboy like his dad was. Yet, that turns out to be the reason why he is headed towards a divorce with his wife not getting the attention that his profession as a doctor gets. But, Ramya Krishna speaks to the photo frame, complaining to her husband and lo and behold, he is back as a soul to fix the issues.

The movie's context in itself is to generate laughs. Brahmanandam adds to it, even though by now it is hard to find anything fresh in what he does. There are tons of goodlooking women in the movie making you wonder what rural worlds are these where everyone is stylish and pretty and carries a lot of oomph. Or is it that we just cannot be realistic anymore about anything? Anyways, Anasuya's cameo is fine and Ramya Krishna as the mother with a duet in flashback are impressive, taking us to the old Hello Brother days. All in all, it is a family entertainer that you don't have to lose your sleep over. It is a one time watch, plain and simple!
