Aashram: Best Actor Award Recipient Bobby Deol Reveals He Was Skeptical About Playing A Negative Role

We have seen Bobby Deol portray many different characters in his 25 year long career. But Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala of Aashram has undoubtedly been one of his most versatile and phenomenal performances ever. Not only did he leave the audience in awe by portraying a role no one expected him to, but also bagged the Best Actor award at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival. The recognition he has received has made him more confident and he is sure he’s on the right track.

In a chat with ETimes, the actor opened up about his win and shared that he doesn’t know how to express his happiness. When asked if he was skeptical about portraying a negative character, Bobby shared, “I was very skeptical before taking up the role. I thought a lot about it. This was the first time I was offered something like this. It was a big challenge for me and I was quite nervous. Every day on the sets, I would be on my toes. Definitely, it was one of the most difficult characters to play for me. However, at the same time, I enjoyed every moment of it.”

The audience is now eagerly waiting for the second season of Prakash Jha’s crime drama web series. When Aashram Chapter 2: The Dark Side released, the filmmaker had given fans a pleasant surprise by revealing that it is only the second installment of the first season and season 2 is on the way.
