Vidya as a wannabe private detective in Bobby Jasoos is a pure joy to watch. Though the movie failed to make a mark at the box office, Vidya's performance stands out. 

Bobby Jasoos (2014)

In this heist black comedy-drama, Vidya played the role of fiesty wife who wants to live the life fullest and she was outstanding. However, the film  performed average at the box  office. 

Ghanchakkar (2013)

Vidya Balan shines as a brothel's madam in this period drama set in the backdrop of late Indian Independence period of 1948. 

Begum Jaan (2017)

Vidya justified her role as Indian Forest Service  officer in the film that deals with the  human–wildlife conflict and wildlife conservation.

Sherni (2021)
