Recently R Madhavan ’s statement at a press event seemed to be an indirect dig at the superstar too. However, Akshay had a witty reaction when he was asked to comment on Madhavan’s statement.
For the unversed, while promoting his latest film, Rocketry : The Nambi Effect, R Madhavan was seen saying how RRR and Pushpa have taken a year to be made and actors like Allu Arjun had completely immersed themselves during the making of these films. He further added that these actors did not just finish their movies in ‘months’ mostly hinting toward Akshay Kumar. Akshay in turn had a witty reply to this during the song launch event of his upcoming movie Raksha Bandhan .
The superstar said, “Kya kehna chaunga... bhai meri filmein khatam ho jaati hai. Ek director aata hai aur woh kehta ha ki aapka kaam khatam, toh mein kya abhi jhagda karu uske saath (What will I say? My movies tend to get done. If one director comes up to me and says my work is done so can I fight with him on that?)” and his Raksha Bandhan director Aanand L Rai also seemed to support him on this. The filmmaker said, “In hone logo ko behkaya hai yeh keh ki 40-45 days mein film complete ho jaati hai. But inke 80-90 din lag jaate hai.” Akshay’s upcoming movie will be released on August 11 and also stars Bhumi Pednekar in a pivotal role.
