Ayan Mukerji calls Brahmastra Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's baby, says 'their role in the film is beyond being actors'

Ayan Mukerji finally unveiled his ambitious fantasy-romance movie Brahmastra ’s trailer on June 15 and needless to say, it created a frenzy amidst the cinephiles within just a few hours of its release. The director recently revealed his lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt ’s passionate contributions to the movie. Ayan referred to the movie as Ranbir and Alia’s ‘baby’ in the movie.

Speaking to DT Next, Ayan Mukerji said, “I am completely crazy with this very long pregnancy on Brahmastra, passionate to another level and it’s the only thing in my life. But I should say that while I am probably the principal parent of Brahmastra. Actually, in every film and the people who come together to make the film, there’s always a core team that forms when a film is being made. Ranbir and Alia have actually also been parents on Brahmastra. They have been amongst various people who worked our part of this journey, producers, crew, etc. They are really right at the center. Their role in the film is beyond just being actors. Ranbir is one of the producers, but beyond that, it’s also their baby. They have seen the growth right from the beginning, been through different stages. They are also equally parenting it.”

Talking about the trailer of Brahmastra, the plot revolves around the male protagonist named Shiva played by Ranbir Kapoor who later discovers that he is destined to be linked with the fiery Brahmastra. The trailer showcases Shiva as the ‘Agni Astra’ who has to protect the Brahmastra against some evil forces. Alia Bhatt essays the role of Isha and the love interest of Shiva. The movie also stars Nagarjuna, Amitabh Bachchan , and Mouni Roy in the lead roles. The movie is slated to release on September 9 and is bankrolled by Karan Johar ’s Dharma Productions .
