Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is currently on a promotional spree for his upcoming film Anek directed by Anubhav Sinha . The actor recently shared his opinion about the ongoing debate about the South industry taking over Bollywood. He said that entertainment is beyond the barrier of language and the audiences are wise enough to know about every content.
In a recent interview with BollywoodLife, Ayushmann said, “Nobody is taking over. Entertainment is beyond language, pehle baar Ek India discovers kar raha hai kyunki Aaj ki audience bahut aware hai. (For the first time ever, one is discovering India because today's audience is very aware). They know about every content and they consume this entertainment beyond the barrier of language or international content.”
He further explained how audiences consume every content irrespective of language. “There are films like Marvel , Doctor Strange, and Superhero films that are getting bumpers and openings and Hindi audiences are consuming every language content. And with her Hindi speaking audiences, you give them entertainment in any language they will consume it. And even our Hindi films have been a source of entertainment be it Sooryavanshi , Gangubai Kathiawadi and now Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which is doing so well.”
“So saying that Hindi films are not doing well is wrong. Hindi film will also definitely work if you generate entertaining content and I think it has started now and it will go on," he concluded. Meanwhile, Anek is a political action thriller that will see Ayushamnn in the role of a fierce undercover agent, who embarks on a mission to restore peace in a conflict-ridden region of Northeast India. Written and directed by Anubhav Sinha, and co-produced by T-series, the film is set to hit theatres on May 27.
