"He Went That Way," an upcoming thriller featuring "Euphoria" star Jacob Elordi and Zachary Quinto, has sparked a fiery bidding war. Variety reports that the German distribution rights were grabbed by SquareOne Entertainment in the run-up to the Cannes virtual film market. The movie's worldwide sales are being managed by Mister Smith Entertainment, with negotiations in other territories still underway.

Directed by Jeffrey Darling, this intriguing project marks his feature debut. Based on an astonishing true story, "He Went That Way" unfolds in 1964, narrating the story of a serial killer on a spree, a down-on-his-luck animal handler, and Zippy - a TV chimpanzee.

With the film in pre-production, the casting of Elordi as youthful serial killer Bobby Falls and Quinto as animal handler Jim Goodwin has stirred considerable excitement. In a conversation with Variety, Darling shared insights on the appeal of this project and what the two leads bring to the table.
Darling praised Elordi's performance, stating, "He brings almost that Jean-Paul Belmondo sense of personal style," highlighting the actor's physicality and his knack for embodying the untamable Bobby. On the other hand, Quinto's portrayal of Jim brings out a man facing the twilight of his career, yet able to flick on his showbiz charm when needed.
