Jacqueline Fernandez lands in trouble, ED attaches her assets worth Rs 7.27 crore in extortion case

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez comes again on Enforcement Directorate’s radar (ED) in connection with the extortion case against conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar . The federal probe agency has attached assets worth Rs 7.27 crore of the actress under the anti-money laundering law.

According to reports, ED estimated that Sukesh had gifted Jacqueline using extortion money worth Rs 5.71 crores. The conman also gave funds to her close family members estimated to be around 1.5 crores. Currently, he is under arrest in a five-year-old cheating case involving politician TTV Dhinkaran.

Earlier, Jacqueline denied her involvement with Sukesh but later opened up on the gifts she received from the conman. In her statement recorded in August and October last year, she told ED that she received gifts including three designer bags from Gucci, Chanel, two Gucci outfits for gym wear, a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two pairs of diamond earrings, and a bracelet of multi-coloured stones and two Hermes bracelets from him. She also mentioned that she returned a Mini Cooper car that she had similarly received.

The Kick actress has so far maintained that she is a victim in the case, claiming to be unaware of Sukesh’s identity. The agency earlier found that Sukesh was in regular contact with the actress since February till he got arrested on August 7 last year. For quite some time, Sukesh’s relationship with the actress became a point of huge interest. Several intimate photos of the two were doing rounds on the internet.

Meanwhile, Sukesh has been conning people since the age of 17 and has about 32 cases registered against him. He is said to have extorted more than Rs 1000 crore till now. It was also reported that he also tried to befriend Bhumi Pednekar , Sara Ali Khan , and Janhvi Kapoor .
