Oscar Isaac dives into Spider-Man's multiverse: 'What's fun is being unique'

The world of Spider-Man, known for its witty web-slinger and diverse cast of characters, is swinging further than ever into the expansive multiverse with the highly anticipated sequel, 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.' Making his entrance into this vast network of animated characters is none other than Oscar Isaac, voicing the stoic Miguel O'Hara.

Known for his humourless demeanour and unique suit adorned with claws and spikes, O'Hara deviates from the typically humorous Spider-Men, providing a new dynamic for fans. "There are lots of things about him that I think are very surprising and make him such his own thing," Isaac told GQ about his character. O'Hara's fierce personality and the undercurrent of violence create a complex, captivating character, adding a fresh and exciting element to the Spider-Verse.

Voicing a character so distinct from the others, Isaac had to adapt to a different approach to humour, and he finds delight in the challenge. "Finding the humour with someone that just is so serious can be really fun," Isaac added.

His recollection revealed a spirited personality that could arguably match Miguel O'Hara's rebellious nature.

As the conversation shifted towards potential additions to the Spider-verse's cast, Isaac suggested his close friend, Pedro Pascal. He humorously proposed that Pascal could play a "cranky, old Spider-Person," adding to the already diverse array of Spider characters.
