Back in time, during the Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis, Demi Moore left audiences and Willis himself in splits with her bold humour and shocking insinuations about her ex-husband's role in the groundbreaking movie, Pulp Fiction.
Moore and Willis, who were married for approximately 12 years - a duration that the actress jokingly compared to "84 in Bruce Willis years" - shared some significant career-defining moments. One such moment was Willis' turn in Quentin Tarantino's iconic indie film Pulp Fiction, a role which was believed to be an odd choice for an action star like Willis at the time.
However, the way Moore humorously depicted it, Willis clinched the role after a visit to the hotel room of the film's controversial producer, Harvey Weinstein. Moore quipped, "But Bruce went over to Harvey Weinstein's hotel, and I don't know. He came back swinging that ball gag and then he said, ‘I got the part!' ”
Amid the controversy surrounding Weinstein, who has been accused by over 60 women of sexual misconduct, most of which allegedly occurred in hotel rooms, the audacious joke did not go unnoticed. Willis, however, appeared to be in high spirits, clapping and laughing at his ex-wife's sharp humor.
Moore went on to make several other jests about their marriage and Willis' acting career, comparing their marriage to the movie "The Sixth Sense", in which the main character was "dead the whole time", and humorously adding that she was married to Willis for the first three "Die Hard" films, because "the last two sucked."
Willis, seemingly unfazed by the ribbing, told reporters that he considered the roast to be a "big party" with friends who are "all crazy in their own right."
