Jiah Khan's mother claims Sooraj Pancholi used to call her daughter by 'dirty' names, verbally and physically abused her

Jiah Khan , who allegedly committed suicide in 2013, was subjected to physical and verbal abuse by her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi . Her mother Rabia Khan told a special court in Mumbai as she recorded her testimony in her daughter’s death case. She detailed Jiah’s career progression and her relationship with Sooraj during her deposition in the court on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old alleged suicide case was probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The probe agency has booked Sooraj for abetment of the suicide. However, he is currently out on bail. Jiah’s mother revealed that the duo met for the first time through a social media site in September 2012. And by October, the two started dating each other and also began living at each other’s house.

Further, Rabia made a shocking revelation that Jiah and Sooraj had a violent fight in December during which he hit her. However, Jiah decided to give him a second chance and they went for a holiday to Goa. She went on to claim that Sooraj used to put her down in front of his friends and also flirted with other women. After which, Jiah came to London and told her that she was abused verbally and physically by Sooraj, and even called her by dirty names.

In February, Jiah flew back to Mumbai and reconciled with Sooraj according to Rabia. She said that her other daughter Karishma received a message from Jiah mentioning that Sooraj undergoing surgery and that Jiah is nursing him. She also told that Sooraj wanted to marry her. Rabia’s further deposition will continue on Thursday to further record her statements.

Meanwhile, Jiah was best known for her performance in the Hindi film Nishabd starring Amitabh Bachchan. She has also worked in movies like Ghajini and Housefull. She was found hanging herself at her residence in Mumbai on June 3, 2013. The CBI had alleged that a three-page note seized on June 10, 2013, was written by Jiah and narrates her ordeal.
