Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal outshines Salman Khan's Tiger 3, crosses Rs 300 crore

Despite criticism, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal has been unstoppable at the box office. Even though the film is A rated and 3 hours 21 minutes long, that’s no longer pulling out the audience from the theatres, courtesy Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s engaging narrative and Ranbir’s extra-ordinary performance. On Wednesday, the film witnessed a slight drop but still managed to register a fair collection of Rs 30 crore.

The Sandeep’s directorial had an bumper opening of Rs 63.8 crore, and went to amass a total of Rs 312.96 crore across all languages in India in just 6 days. The film beat the Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3 that collected Rs 282 crore after 26 days of its release. With terrific collections, Animal is eyeing to outshine Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan’s lifetime collections. At the global box office, Ranbir’s film has already surpassed Rs 500 crore-mark.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Animal earned Rs 7.4 crore as of now across all languages. If the film continue to hold strong at the box office, it will definitely make Ranbir first actor to start the Rs 600 crore-club. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently wrote, "Animal continues its smashing run. A glorious total in Week 1 is assured, the numbers in Weekend 2 will give an idea of its lifetime total. Animal also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles. Backed by T-series, Cine1 Studios and Bhadrakali Pictures, the film arrived in theatres on December 1, alongside Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. The DesiMartini review of Animal read, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest offering Animal is not for the faint hearted. If you thought Kabir Singh/Arjun Reddy was violent and problematic, Animal is both these films combined and raised to the power of 10 (if not more). The film begins with a promising first half. Despite some erratic jump cuts and continuity issues which tend to confuse you, the scenes, and the way they play out, manage to hold your attention, primarily because of the stellar act and towering presence of Ranbir Kapoor.”
