Sushmita Sen's brother Rajeev and his wife Charu open up on their strained relationship, want divorce

Of late, Sushmita Sen ’s brother Rajeev Sen and his wife Charu Asopa ’s relationship has been making headlines for all wrong reasons. Ever since the couple tied the knot in 2019, they have been facing one or another issue in their marital life. In the latest development, they have finally decided to part ways and headed for divorce.

Rajeev and Charu share a four-month-old daughter Ziana. In a recent interview with a news portal, Charu stated the reasons behind her decision of parting ways with Rajeev. She said that he has trust issues and also she has given enough chances to him in three years of marriage. She said that an amicable separation notice has been sent to him.” I want to part ways because I don't want my daughter to grow up in a toxic and abusive environment. I don't want her to see people hurling abuses at each other,” she told Delhi Times. She held Rajeev responsible for quitting her career claiming that he would not approve of it. She went on to call him a superstitious father, alleging that he believes Ziana will catch the evil eye if her photos are posted on social media. Also, she condemned him for not being present for their daughter.

On the contrary, Rajeev has accused her of hiding about her first marriage from him. “Practically no one, barring those from her hometown, Bikaner (Rajasthan), knew about her first marriage. It was clearly a secret loop hidden from all of us. Three years of marriage and I had no clue. I understand it was her past but she should have at least told me and I would have accepted it with respect,” he said to the same publication. Dismissing the allegation of being an absentee father, he stated that his wife calls him unavailable as soon as the holidays end, but gives all importance during it. Moreover, he feels it foolishness to trust someone blindly in today’s age. He says the world now only understands the language of money.

Meanwhile, trouble in their relationship seemed obvious when they deleted each other’s pictures and videos from their social media handles. But later they got reunited and announced that they are expecting their first child together. The reports of their separation started doing the rounds when Rajeev posted a note about missing his daughter.
