Actor Trisha seems to have had a low-key birthday celebration this year. Trisha turned 40 on Saturday and chose to spend her milestone birthday back at home in the company of her family. On Sunday, she took to social media to post a few pictures from her birthday celebrations, which include a carefree day at home, a temple visit, and of course, a birthday cake.

She also thanked her fans for flooding her timeline on social media with birthday wishes. "Thanks to each and every one of you who took the time out to make me feel this way," she tweeted.

Trisha is set to complete 25 years in the film industry. It may seem like a significant achievement, especially when viewed through the traditional assessment of an actress's career in our industry. Twenty years ago, some might have believed that turning 40 meant that an actress' best years were behind her and that it was time for new talent to take her place. However, Trisha is one of the leading female actors who is defying that notion and setting career goals for her younger colleagues.

If anything, these 25 years were merely warm-up years, and she is only getting started now. She is at the forefront of leading this change and shattering the glass ceilings that limited opportunities for her predecessors a few years ago.

Trisha continues to be one of the most sought-after actresses across the Indian film industry. Last year, she had an amazing year in her career with back-to-back blockbusters. She garnered unanimous praise for her performance as Kundavai in director Mani Ratnam's ambitious two-part epic "Ponniyin Selvan." Her action thriller "The Road" became the biggest hit among her solo movies. And she scored another major hit with Thalapathy Vijay's "Leo," which earned more than Rs 600 crore in ticket sales.
