Actor Vicky Kaushal has emerged to be one of the most versatile and talented celebs in the Hindi film industry. His father Sham Kaushal , on the other hand, is an influential name in the world of stunts and action choreography with films like Krrish 3, Dangal and Bajirao Mastani to his credit. But many don’t know that in 2003, the veteran stunt coordinator and action director was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He was in the hospital for almost two long months and several tests were run for one year. Thankfully the cancer did not spread and he recovered.
In a recent chat with ETimes, he revealed that he had signed a film back then which was to go on floors in November. But just one month before he was hospitalized. Sham was quoted saying, “I thought there’s no chance of me surviving. I had even decided that I would end my life by jumping off the third floor because I couldn’t live like that. But I could not get off the bed because my stomach had been operated on. I told God, “Please end this. I don’t have any regrets. I came from a small village and by your grace, I lived a good life. If you want to save me, don’t make me weak.” After that, I was at peace.”

The very next day he called the production team to return the signing amount. But the director who was struggling back then told him that they will wait for him and only he will do the film. Sham remembered, “When I came back from the hospital in December, after 50 days, the first film that I did was with the same director who had waited for me, it was Anurag Kashyap and the film was Black Friday.”
More power to him!
