The entertainment industry woke up to sad news today with the passing of legendary actor Ray Stevenson at the age of 58. He was known for his impeccable performances in the Thor film franchise as an Asgardian soldier and for playing a 13th Legion member in Rome. However, he also became a household name in India after he made essayed the role of the main antagonist British Governor Scott Buxton in the SS Rajamouli-directed RRR. Now, the filmmaker has taken to his social media handle to mourn his sudden demise.
Talking about the same, SS Rajamouli shared a BTS picture from the sets of RRR with Ray Stevenson. The picture has Stevenson in his British uniform costume as he looks at Rajamouli. The director can also be seen having a laugh over something. He captioned the delightful candid moment stating, “Shocking... Just can't believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. Apart from this, the official social media handle of RRR also shared a still of Ray Stevenson from the movie wherein his character confronts Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR). Ray Stevenson’s grieving fans started remembering him on social media by circulating clips of his performances as Volstagg in the Thor franchise and Othere in Vikings. Stevenson had also lent his vocals for the character Gar Saxon for the Star Wars show The Clone Wars and Rebels. He was about to work on The Mandalorian spin-off Ashoka. He is now survived by his partner Elisabetta Caraccia and their three children.
