Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield wants to return as everyone's favorite neighborhood webslinger

The Amazing Spider-Man movie franchise which ended after just two movies was a mixed bag. While the movies were enjoyable they never had the quality of writing that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies had but one of the biggest highlights of Amazing Spider-man was Andrew Garfield's portrayal of Peter Parker.

This was highlighted in the recent Spider-Man: No Way Home movie (spoiler alert) in which the actor reprised his role alongside Toby Maguire much to the delight of fans. The return of both previous versions of Spidey into the MCU played a big part in the success of No Way Home.

Andrew Garfield's performance was very well received by fans and in a way helped give The Amazing Spider-Man movies a mini reboot as fans wanted Sony to make new movies with the actor set outside of the MCU.

While there have been rumors of a reported reboot of Amazing Spider with either a new movie or a series it is still unclear what the future holds.

In a recent interview with Variety, the actor opened up about wanting to give the role another shot. He said, “I mean, yes, definitely open to something if it felt right. Peter and Spider-Man, those characters are all about service, to the greater good and the many. 

Garfield went on to add, "He’s a working-class boy from Queens that knows struggle and loss and is deeply empathetic. I would try to borrow Peter Parker’s ethical framework in that, if there was an opportunity to step back in and tell more of that story, I would have to feel very sure and certain in myself.”

It would be interesting to see where Sony will take the character from here as there is already a demand from fans for a new Amazing Spider-Man movie set in Sony's Spider-Man universe and it would be a no-brainer to introduce Garfiled's Spier-Man to Tom Hardy 's Venom.

So fans will have to wait and hope to see what the future holds.
