Ant Man 3
The third installment in the franchise, Ant-Man, and the Wasp: Quantumania will be the first movie in the fifth phase of the MCU and will also be directly linked to the next Avenger movie The Kang Dynasty.
The project will be the biggest Ant-Man movie to date, with Peyton Reed returning to direct making him the second director to complete an MCU trilogy along with Jon Watts (Spider-Man).
The early reactions to the movie are out and many have mixed feelings about the movie particularly the first act of the movie which has been described mostly as messy.
However, they do agree that Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror is incredible, they also seem to be very impressed with the movie's final act. so let's take a look at a few early reviews.
I think my favorite part of #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania was the dynamic between Scott and Cassie. Every time he calls her “peanut,” I just kind of want to cry. Please make 10 more one-shots just of him catching up on her birthdays. pic.twitter.com/CJYPfropRy

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is such a fun way to kick off Phase 5. Each #Antman film has been better than the last. This is no exception. Can't wait to see more Kang and the ramifications of this film in the #MCU pic.twitter.com/1HuJHRooNi

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is a splendid visual feast. The best of the @AntMan movies, complete w/ humor, heart & the tie in to the Kang Dynasty we’ve been waiting for. #jonathanmajors is on fire & #kathrynnewton is baller in her marvel debut. Feb 17 can’t come soon enough. pic.twitter.com/3nKfRSIpJQ

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania has way too much going on -- it’s tough to connect emotionally to any of it. Jonathan Majors’ Kang is a charismatic, intense baddy and visually awesome, but the threat he represents is too abstract. Review @CNET on Feb. 14. pic.twitter.com/42bDJobRgc

After a frustratingly rough act 1, #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania finally gets going, only to end where this story should’ve began. While the external stakes are clear & weighty, emotional drive felt slight (and levity even lighter). That said, Jonathan Majors rules. pic.twitter.com/qpZeKTgdUd

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is a solid, yet overly ambitious start to the next phase of the MCU. Jonathan Majors is an absolute FORCE as #Kang and the NEW KING of the Multiverse. The final battle is ASTONISHING, but I really missed the comedic charm throughout. #AntMan pic.twitter.com/NRj3fzjCKa

PHASE 5 HAS BEGUN! The new #AntMan movie is like a psychedelic rollercoaster full of frightening & hilarious oddities, plus one VERY menacing Kang. Big STAR WARS vibes meet the MCU at its freakiest & most inventive. MODOK is a riot, but Jonathan Majors conquers. Loved the ride! pic.twitter.com/gdJqHld3rT

The movie will be set inside the Quantum Realm and also introduce the city of Chronopolis, which is ruled by Kang. In the comics, is a multiversal city ruled by Kang the Conqueror. It is a city of limitless time and the center of Kang's conquest.
The supervillain MODOK will be making his MCU debut in the movie. He is a mutated version of Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, the main antagonist of the first Ant-Man movie.
The movie will also introduce Kang the Conqueror, who will be the main villain of the MCU moving forward.
In the previously released promo for the movie, we learned that Kang had defeated both Ant-Man and The Avengers.
Kang cannot only travel time but also to different timelines, so this revelation from the supervillain could mean that he had faced multiple versions of Earth's mightiest heroes and defeated them.
This will be the third Ant-Man movie starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Kathryn Newton, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael Douglas.
The supporting cast includes Kathryn Newton, David Dastmalchian, William Jackson Harper, Katy O'Brian, Bill Murray, and Randall Park.
From what we know of the plot of the movie after Scott Lang and his family get trapped in the Quantum Realm, they are approached by Kang to retrieve something that was stolen from him, most likely the Forever Crystal.
The Forever Crystal is a powerfull device that powers Kang's city of Chronopolis and has the power to manipulate time and space.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to hit the big screen on February 17, 2023.
