Fantastic Four won't be an origin story confirms Head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige

Marvel finally gave an official release date to the long-teased Fantastic Four reboot at this year's SDCC , The movie will be set in the sixth phase of the MCU .

A recent update on the movie by Kevin Feige confirms that the upcoming MCU adaption will not be a retelling of their origin story.

Both 20th Century adaptions of Marvel's first family were how Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm gained their amazing abilities.

While the first adaption received mixed reactions, the 2015 reboot was a total disaster for the studio.

John Krasinski appeared as Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but said in a recent interview that he had no knowledge of his potential return.

While we don't have an official announcement on who will be portraying the superhero squad in the MCU, there are rumors that Jason Segel will be portraying The Thing in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

in a recent interview with THR, Kevin Feige had this to say about the project 

“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?” We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

This feels like the same approach the studio took with The Spider-Man franchise by introducing Peter Parker after he already gained his powers.

So the same approach with The Fantastic Four could pan out well for Marvel.

Initially, Jon Watts was supposed to direct the project but he backed out of the project earlier this year, so the studio is currently looking for someone to take the reins.

While we will still have a long way to go before we get a Fantastic Four movie set in the MCU, Hopefully, we will get to Marvel's first family in action somewhere in Phase 5.
