Karan Johar wants THESE actors to relive characters of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol & Rani Mukerji in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai remake

Ever wondered if the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota be remade, which actors will do justice to the romantic drama. Well, the movie director himself has already thought of the new cast who can effortlessly relive the iconic characters of college dude Rahul aka Shah Rukh Khan , tomboy Anjali aka Kajol , and fashionable Tina aka Rani Mukerji.

In the recent interaction, when asked about the actors which could fit in the roles, the filmmaker told the Times of India, “I would say Ranveer (Singh), Alia (Bhatt), and Janhvi (Kapoor). Alia would play Kajol’s role, Janhvi would play the hottie role - Rani from college - and Ranveer would be Shah Rukh.” Well, it will be interesting to see Janhvi romancing Ranveer for the first time.

For the unversed, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is Karan’s maiden movie as a director that features a love triangle between college friends. While Rani played the sweetheart of Shah Rukh, Kajol essayed his best friend in the movie. The film received Filmfare awards in almost all major categories including Best Film, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor. In fact, it was the first movie to be honoured with all four acting awards until Zoya Akhtar ’s Gully Boy .

Meanwhile, Karan is currently on a promotional spree for his chat show Koffee With Karan season 7. After more than three years, he returned with the infamous chat show with the new season. The first episode of the show saw Ranveer and Alia brewing gossip, candid stories, and revealing secrets. The two are all set to reunite in Karan’s next directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani after Gully Boy. The film is set to release in February 2023. On the other hand, Janhvi was last seen in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl . She will next be seen in GoodLuck Jerry.
