Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph's fourth collaboration 'Ram' gets an official synopsis

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is the upcoming action-thriller movie Ram , which will be the fourth collaboration between director Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal .

The plot of the movie was under wraps until now, but the official synopsis of the movie has revealed that the movie will be a spy thriller.

In the movie, Mohanlal plays the role of a former spy who has gone into hiding and must now return in order to save the country from a new and dangerous threat.

If the plot sounds familiar, it's because is similar to the plot of a lot of spy thrillers like Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, The Jason Bourne series, and more recently the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan.

While the plot of the movie may seem basic, considering Jeethu Joseph's track record with thrillers, there is a strong possibility that the movie will offer us plenty of engaging twists and turns.

Ram began production in January 2020 and had to be put on hold due to the pandemic, as there were several scenes meant to be shot in London.

There were even rumors that the movie had been shelved but these rumors are thankfully not true as director Jeethu Joseph revealed that the movie will resume production soon and will be a two-parter.

Trisha Krishnan will be playing the role of Mohanlal's wife Dr. Vineetha. This will be the actress's second Malayalam movie after 2018's Hey Jude in which acted alongside Nivin Pauly.

Joining Mohanlal and Trisha the rest of the cast includes Indrajith Sukumaran, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Adil Hussain, Durga Krishna, Suresh Chandra Menon, and Leona Lishoy

The movie is produced by Ramesh P. Pillai and Sudhan Sundharam under the banner Passion Studios in association with Abhishek Films.

Part one of Ram is expected to release in the latter half of 2023.
