Thar trailer: Anil Kapoor, his son Harsh Varrdhan present gritty thriller in 'hearts of an unforgiving desert'

The much-anticipated trailer of Thar starring Anil Kapoor and his son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor dropped today. Directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary, the film looks like a dark and mysterious tale set in the deserts of Rajasthan, Backed by Anil Kapoor Film & Communication, the crime thriller also stars Fatima Sana Sheikh , Satish Kaushik , and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles.

About two minutes trailer introduces Anil Kapoor as a cop named Surekha Singh who is investigating a series of violent killings in the 1980s. He crosses paths with an antique dealer Siddharth played by Harsh Varrdhan. Later, several intriguing characters are introduced each having secrets that form a thrilling and gritty case to investigate the rampant violent killings in the village. With the picturesque view of sandy terrain and mysterious plotline, Thar seems to be an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Watch the trailer here:

Talking about the film, Harsh Varrdhan had earlier said the film was the most educational experience for him. Sharing the trailer, Harsh wrote, “ Mysteries and mirages, twists and turns. In the heart of an unforgiving desert, unfolds a gritty thriller, unlike any other.” Take a look:

While Anil had said the plot of the film strikes the perfect balance between gritty and slick, grainy and smooth, fast-paced yet nuanced. After Anurag Kashyap ’s AK vs AK, the actor will be sharing the screen space with his son Harsh for the second time.“I love working with young and new talent and with Thar bringing onboard young actors and filmmakers it gives me a completely different perspective on films. Meanwhile, Thar is set to stream on Netflix from May 6.
