The Ponniyin Selvan team share an epic tribute video to Trisha Krishnan on her birthday

The team of Ponniyin Selvan released a tribute video to actress Trisha Krishnan today, in honor of her birthday and her stellar performance as Kundavai Devi.

In a movie career spanning 70 movies, some of her biggest hits include movies like Ghilli, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Mankatha, 96, and the recently released Ponniyin Selvan.

Trisha got her start in the industry after winning the prestigious Miss Chennai title in 1999 and started her acting career in the same year with a small role in Jodi.

Her big break came in 2002 when she starred opposite Suriya in Mounam Pesiyadhe, which went on to become a critical and commercial success and established her position as a leading actress in the Tamil industry.

She won her first Filmfare award for Best Actress in 2004 for her role in the Telegu movie Varsham opposite Prabhas. 

she went on to make her Hindi debut in 2010 opposite Akshay Kumar in the comedy movie Khatta Meetha, and her Kannada debut was in 2014 in the movie Power in which she acted opposite the late Puneeth Rajkumar.

And finally, the actress made her Malayalam debut in 2018 with the movie Hey Jude, in which she was paired opposite Nivin Pauly.

The actress received a lot of praise for her performance as the clever and insightful princess Kundavai Devi, in Ponniyin Selvan, and no doubt her performance will receive a lot of accolades when award season rolls in.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 has just become the third highest-grossing movie of 2023 by grossing 260 crores at the end of six days.

The movie received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike when it hit theaters last week.

The actress's next big release is the upcoming action movie Leo, in which she will be sharing the screen with Vijay. Leo will see Vijay and Trisha reunite after a gap of 15 years, their last movie together was the 2008 action movie Kuruvi.

This movie will also mark their fifth collaboration after Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, and Kuruvi, three of which have been massive box-office successes.
