Vijay Sethupathi to team up with director Sundar C. for 'Aranmanai 4'

Director Sundar C. has roped in Vijay Sethupathi to play the lead in the fourth installment of the popular Aranmani franchise.

The Aranmanai movies are horror comedies, the first movie came out in 2014 and starred Sundar C. in the lead alongside Hansika Motwani and Andrea Jeremiah.

The movie was about a haunting in the ancestral home of Ravi played by Sundar C. the movie met with positive reception from critics and fans, grossing 65 crores at the box office.

The sequel came out in 2016 and added Siddarth and Trisha to the main cast. The movie did not manage to be as sucessfull as the original a the box office and ended up grossing around 35 crores.

The third installment in the franchise had Arya and Raashii Khanna in the lead and was released in 2021. The movie grossed 50 crores at the box office.

The franchise in total has grossed 154 crores, The fourth installment in the franchise is set to start production in Chennai this March.

The cast includes Sundar C., Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Hansika Motwani, Andrea Jeremiah, and Santhanam.

Vijay Sethupathi has a string of movies lined up this year, he will be appearing in Michael, Viduthalai, and Gandhi Talks.

He will also be appearing in three Bollywood movies this year. in Merry Christmas he will be acting alongside Katrina Kaif, In Mumbaikar, he will working with Vikrant Massey, and finally, he will be sharing the big screen with Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara in Jawan.

Vijay Sethupathi is currently promoting his upcoming web series Farzi for Amazon Prime Video. He will be working alongside Shahid Kapoor and Raashi Khanna.

The series is created by the makers of the successful Family Man series and follows a con artist played by Shahid Kapoor and the police officer who is after him played by Vijay Sethupathi.

Farzi will be premier on Amazon Prime Video on February 10th.
