Abhishek Bachchan to play Big B’s role in Do Aur Do Paanch remake

Abhishek Bachchan has bagged a new challenging role in his kitty. Though he has denied numerous offers earlier to play his dad’s roles in remakes of Bachchan Sr’s yesteryear blockbusters, he could not do the same with Kunal Kohli. He never felt that he could do justice to any role that has been played by his superstar father Amitabh Bachchan but finally for the first time he has given his word to the producer Kohlito get recast in a role played by Big B.

Bachchan Jr. has been signed up to play Amitabh’s role in the remake of 1980-blockbusterDo Aur Do Paanch, which also starred Shashi Kapoor. It has also been reported that Bobby Deol will be cast in Shashi’s role, though the names of the actresses to play the roles of Hema Malini and Parveen Babi, are yet to be finalised.

The filmmaker was not very willing to talk much about the remake,"It's too early to reveal anything, we will make a formal announcement as soon as we are ready with all details." Newcomer Akshaye Puri, maternal cousin of designer Manish Malhotra and actor Varun Dhawan will step into the shoes of direction with this remake.
