After Snapdeal-Snapchat confusion, now Sonu Sood gets slammed for Sonu Nigam's ...

Twitter has been abuzz with reactions ever since singer Sonu Nigam posted a strongly-worded tweet on Monday morning, complaining about being woken up by azaan (call for prayer) on loudspeakers. Nigam’s Twitter post drew flak with many calling him insensitive. But here’s what’s happening. Some of the hate has been targeted at actor Sonu Sood as well.

In yet another incident of mistaken identities — much like how Snapdeal faced the ire of angry Indians who were upset with Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel for allegedly saying that he doesn’t “want to expand into poor countries like India” — Sonu Sood is at the receiving end of hateful comments for Sonu Nigam’s tweet that read: “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.”

Baffled, here’s Sonu Sood’s reaction on Twitter:

In the Snapdeal and Snapchat confusion, many users began deleting Snapdeal’s mobile application, leading Snapdeal co-founder and CEO Kunal Bahl to tweet: “Ppl asking us to make a statement that @snapdeal is not @snapchat was possibly the last thing I thought I would ever need to do.”
