Akshay beats the sweltering heat to perform a stunt for Baby

There is no doubt about the fact that thrill ‘stunting’ is what makes Akshay Kumar the real ‘Khiladi’. Even after spending more than 20 years in the industry, the thirst of this man to perform action stunts keeps getting high. The 47 year old actor recently in the boiling desert of Abu Dhabi shot for an action stunt for his upcoming film Baby.

Baby that has extensively been shot in Nepal, Istanbul and other places has gone though a vigorous schedule to meet the set deadline despite all odds. The Khiladi Kumar reportedly with inputs of his action director Cyril Raffaelli and director Neeraj Pandey performed the scene at a temperature as hot as 51 degrees. Talking about it, the actor said, "It was the scorching heat of the Abu Dhabi desert that really took its toll on the team. We started setting up for our action portions before the sun would even rise in the hope of surviving a full day without severe dehydration kicking in. I'm never one to struggle in the heat, for I love the warmth in my bones, but even these conditions tested my endurance and strength to the fullest. Working with Cyril - (one of Hollywood's top actor directors) was an experience I will never forget. Nothing seems impossible for him and the team and I bounced off on his energy and enthusiasm to get the job done twice as fast. Once back in the milder city climes, I actually got withdrawal symptoms as I enjoyed myself that much. Starting off at the crack of dawn, an entire palace to ourselves, making the most of every minute and pushing ourselves to mental and physical limits, I have to admit, this was one of the most grueling yet memorable shoots of my life!" 

The efforts are pretty much a work of dedication and his love for what he does best. Baby is an action thriller directed by Neeraj Pandey and stars Anupam Kher, Rana Dagubatti and Akshay in the lead. The film is currently under post production and will hit the screens in February next year.
