Ali Fazal Wraps Up ‘Victoria and Abdul’

Happy Bhag Jayegi actor Ali Fazal has completed his first Hollywood venture titled ‘Victoria and Abdul’. The actor shares screen space with Oscar-winning actress Judi Dench in the film that has been directed by Stephen Frears. ‘Victoria and Abdul’ has been based on the novel ‘Victoria & Abdul: The True Story of the Queen's Closest Confidant’ by Shrabani Basu.

The movie tells the story of Queen Victoria and her attendant Abdul Karim, played by Ali. Abdul became a “Munshi” in the government and also the Queen’s confidant. ‘Victoria and Abdul’ will also focus on how Abdul became one of the most powerful figures in the court.

Ali spoke about completing his Hollywood project and said, “I've been away from home since the last three months. It was a beautiful wrap... mixed emotions. I FaceTimed Judi from the Taj Mahal. She would've loved it”. The actor also shared that he is gearing up for ‘Fukrey Returns’ and that the Indian film industry prepares actors for moving from one movie to the next.

‘Victoria and Abdul’ will be released on September 22 next year.
